Kip Cho Nah (squirrel cuckoo house)

The new casita Kip Cho Nah is now up and running for rental . It seems that each one that I build becomes easier and more , as the staff say, elegante ,than the others.

Kip Cho Nah

I chose the name due to a visit of  four days ,the squirrel cuckoo ,which doesnt normally visit these parts . You can imagine how excited I was to see this pretty bird . You can read more about him on one of my earlier posts.

my painting of a cuckoo squirrel(Kip Cho Nah)

I put in an ecological spetic tank and it seems to be working great. and really the only way to go in this remote part of the Yucatan. Its fun working out colour combinations ,floor designs not to say there werent frustrations along the way but it happens anywhere.  Some look for perfection in everything they do which really makes one  more frustrated but I have got to a stage in my life where I think, well sometimes the imperfections are just perfect.

But now its done and I feel very happy the way it turned out.

Its set a little further back in the property but still has  a view of the pool . There are two double beds and so can easliy sleep from one up to four poeple.

The plants have been put in place but will take a season to really do justice . On the walkway I opted for solar lighting instead of using more electricity( its very expensive down here ) and they seem to be working just fine.

Bathrrom

The visitors that pass by here for a night or two just love the peace and tranquility and more say they would like to stay longer but time is sometimes as a way of running away with itself even on holiday.

    Hi Valerie
I met you at your restaurant as you were getting on your way to your massage in early July (Ralf was driving us.). After our meal, we sneaked a peek into the new palapa and into another one. What a treat! They are really beautiful! Next time I’m in the area, I will definitely stay with you in Sta. Elena. Thank you for your hospitality and good food!

    • Thalnk you Jody Im sorry I could not have spent more time with you on that particular day. Glad you like the casitas and look forward to meeting you again. Wherever you go I hope you have a wonderful and happy travels
      cheers Valerie
